Australian Women in New York

Australian Women in New York (AWNY) was established in June 1999 by a small group of women who formed a committee to discuss options for providing a social focus and networking opportunities for expatriate women living in the New York area. The group has expanded steadily from this small beginning and in 2008 has over 300 American-Australian Association members on its mailing/email list. While the majority of members live in New York City, there are also a significant number living in the greater New York State, Connecticut and New Jersey. Our membership covers a broad range of age groups and occupations.   AWNY hosts a range of social events and other activities and opportunities to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Our diverse range of events includes: Monthly coffee mornings at the Australian Consulate - usually the second Wednesday of the month. Educational and cultural tours - usually the fourth Wednesday of the month. Lunches. Shopping trips and tips. Mums & Bubs Group. A monthly Newsletter. Attending AAA events together - e.g. book launches, art gallery exhibition openings, drama and music. The Calendar provides up-to-date information about our events and activities. AWNY is a dynamic group which welcomes newcomers and fresh ideas for activities and coffee morning speakers.
