Australian Expat Tax Considerations & Australian Property Market Update Seminar

Seminar conducted by Steve Douglas from SMATS

The Australian property has been an effective tax planning tool for Aussie expats for many years. However, recent changes to home loan lending rules and tax changes, coupled with higher entry points are challenging that convention.

Thankfully, the Australian property markets are enjoying some strong gains through increased population, downsizing trends, and property supply shortages across all states.

At the same time property tax has been escalating with Capital Gains Tax, buyer stamp duty, land tax and foreign buyer surcharges lifting sharply.

So, it’s simultaneously the best and worst time to be a landlord!

Register for this seminar where I will discuss:

  • If property is still a tax effective option for expats?
  • How current tax rules impact Australian expatriates
  • Who has to pay foreigner taxes and fees?
  • What is driving the Australian property market and how sustainable is it?
  • Is it the right time to enter the property market?
