Teresa Palmer

Excellence in Film & Television Award

Teresa Palmer is a globally recognised actress who has been nominated for multiple Best Actress awards, including from the Australian Academy of Cinema Television Arts (AACTA), Critics Choice and Australian Film Critics Association.

In a stellar start to her career, Teresa was awarded the prestigious Australians in Film Breakthrough Award in 2011 and was named one of Australia’s ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ by Screen International. Her leading role in 2:37 captivated audiences worldwide, garnering acclaim at Cannes Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival and receiving a nomination for Best Actress by the Australian Film Institute (AFI).

Teresa has since had a very prolific career, appearing in several major Australian and international films. In 2015, she was cast in Terrence Malick’s KNIGHT OF CUPS alongside Cate Blanchett and Christian Bale which premiered at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival. This was followed by Mel Gibson’s Oscar-nominated and critically acclaimed HACKSAW RIDGE, opposite Andrew Garfield, Vince Vaughn and Hugo Weaving, and for which she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 2017 AACTA awards.

Some of Teresa’s other film credits include DECEMBER BOYS opposite Daniel Radcliffe; BEDTIME STORIES; THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE; I AM NUMBER FOUR produced by Michael Bay; coming-of-age film TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT with Chris Pratt and Topher Grace; the Australian thriller WISH YOU WERE HERE opposite Joel Edgerton; the zombie rom-com box office hit WARM BODIES with Nicholas Hoult and John Malkovich; KILL ME THREE TIMES; LIGHTS OUT directed by James Wan; Netflix’s MESSAGE FROM THE KING; BERLIN SYNDROME; 2:22; and RIDE LIKE A GIRL directed by Rachel Griffiths, for which she received another nomination for Best Actress by the Australian Film Critics Association. Her most recent film credits include THE FALL GUY directed by David Leitch where she acted opposite Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt and Hannah Waddingham, and ADDITION, which recently premiered at Toronto International Film Festival.

Teresa’s string of award-winning performances extends to her foray into television, having been nominated at the 2024 AACTA Awards as Best Lead Actress for her performance Disney’s psychological thriller THE CLEARING, starring alongside Miranda Otto and Guy Pearce. She was also nominated at the 2022 Critics Choice Super Award for Best Actress in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Series for her work in the cult hit A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES.
Teresa will continue to be seen on the small screen, starring as Sophie Honeywell in THE LAST ANNIVERSARY, a series adaptation of Lianne Moriarty’s book of the same name, and as Alison in the Irish-Australian co-production MIX TAPE opposite Jim Sturgess.

Outside of the film and TV world, Teresa is also the co-founder of Lovewell, a plant-based nutritional supplement, and top selling author of the book ‘Zen Mama’s Guide to Finding your Rhythm in Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond’, alongside her co-author Sarah Wright Olsen. The duo also co-hosts a popular family podcast, ‘The Mother Daze’.

Excellence in the Arts Award

In addition to two decades of award-winning live performance and multiple recorded specials, Tim is the composer and lyricist of smash-hit stage musicals, Matilda and Groundhog Day.

He is also a screenwriter (of the award-winning Upright, in which he stars alongside House of The Dragon’s Milly Alcock), and a screen actor, (Atticus Fetch in Californication, Friar Tuck in Robin Hood 2014, Darius Cracksworth in Disney’s The Artful Dodger).

Excellence in Film & Television Award

Warwick Thornton is one of the most awarded filmmakers on the international scene, notably having won the Camera d’Or at Cannes for SAMSON AND DELILAH, along with the Platform Prize at Toronto and the Special Jury Prize at Venice for SWEET COUNTRY.

Warwick most recently wrote and directed THE NEW BOY starring Cate Blanchett, which was nominated for 12 AACTA’s (Australia’s Oscars) in 2023 including Best Film and Best Direction.
