ART HIDE RUGS X SASHA BIKOFF

We were honored to host the stunning collaboration of New York Interior Designer, Sasha Bikoff, and Australian Rug makers, Art Hide on September 13th.

An exciting application of our event space, we had tapestries hung on the walls, rugs with pillows on the ground, and rugs held up by tension rods stretching 10 ft high throughout the space. Guests were able to wander through the collection that was so compatible with our new space they seemed made for each other. Many thanks to Sasha, Kura, and the 1st Dibs team for helping make this happen.

Let’s get to know them a bit better.

Art Hide uses cow hides to make rugs and tapestries. With the amazing Kura Perkins at the helm, they create from the earth and for it working with hides that would often be considered waste. It’s this deep-rooted sense of respect for the earth, its creatures, and resources that shines through the beautiful work at Art Hide. Sasha Bikoff, a born and raised in New York, celebrates the beauty of the bold. As Hadley Keller notes, “Sasha’s exuberant style is informed by a depth of knowledge on–and insatiable curiosity for–design history” (Sasha Bikoff website). In this collaboration, Bikoff stepped out of her urban landscape into Aussie terrain.
