Brisbane Scholar & Alumni Networking Reception

On Monday April 8, the American Australian Association in Australia gathered in Brisbane to connect with local scholars and alumni. Association Chair, Leila Smith and CEO, Ian Irving were honoured to welcome special guests United States Consul General (NSW & QLD), Christine Elder and the Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce.

We were inspired to see vital networks being created and to hear all about the amazing research, study and creative endeavours being undertaken by this super-talented group of Aussies and Americans based in Queensland.

Thank you to United States Consul General Christine Elder for addressing our Graduate Education, Veteran and Arts scholars and alumni in attendance.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Dame Quentin Bryce for hosting us at Queensland University of Technology Gardens Point, in the historic Old Government House.

For over 75 years, the American Australian Association has connected culture, community and commerce. And we look forward to investing in the future of the AUS-USA relationship for the next 75-years and beyond, through the leadership, innovation and promise of these remarkable scholars.
