American Australian Association hosted at Government House

We thank Their Excellencies, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret) and Mrs. Linda Hurley, for hosting Ambassador John Berry (Ret) and Curtis Yee, along with several special guests and the American Australian Association AUS team, for a celebratory lunch at Government House, Canberra last week.

During the lunch, the Governor General recognized and celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of the American Australian Association. He highlighted the Association’s ever-expanding scholarship program, which has more than doubled the number of scholarships awarded annually and introduced new veterans and indigenous education scholarships. Additionally, the Association’s establishment of new office premises in New York in 2023 and its management of Australia’s premier public diplomacy program, G’DAY USA, were commended. These initiatives have significantly advanced the Association’s mission of fostering educational opportunities, diplomatic outreach, and cultural exchange between the United States and Australia.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported these endeavors. The Association’s successes are a testament to the dedication and vision of its community, ensuring a bright future for American-Australian relations.
