For over 20 years, the G’Day USA Arts Gala has celebrated the contributions made by Australian creatives in the United States. The only event of its kind, the Gala is a highlight of the year for the Australian Arts community in the United States and is covered by media outlets in both countries and around the world. The American Australian Association is proud to present the G’Day USA Arts Gala in partnership with the Australian Government. Funds raised from the Gala support the American Australian Association Arts Scholarships, supporting the next generation of exceptional artists.
2026 Honorees

Yvonne Strahovski
Excellence in Film & Television Award
Yvonne garnered critical acclaim for her role as Serena Joy Waterford in Hulu’s Emmy and Golden Globe winning original series, THE HANDMAID’S TALE, for which she has netted an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress (Drama Series), a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress (Series, Miniseries, or Television Film), as well as two Screen Actors Guild nominations for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble (Drama Series). The series released its sixth and final season on April 8, 2025.

Ian Thorpe AM
Global Impact Award
Ian won nine Olympic medals, 11 World Championship titles, and broke 22 world records, cementing his legacy as a dominant force in international swimming. Beyond the pool, he has served as a leading advocate for youth mental health, education, and Indigenous communities. He has been recognised with numerous national honours, including Young Australian of the Year, the Australian Sports Medal, and the Human Rights Medal.

Milly Alcock
Rising Star Award
Milly landed the coveted role of SUPERGIRL in James Gunn’s new DC Universe. She will next be seen headlining SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW for director Craig Gillespie, which is slated to premiere June 26, 2026.
