Uruguayan-Australian soprano Natasha Isabella Gesto is a second year Master of Music (Vocal Arts) student and Kovner Fellow at The Juilliard School, studying under Darrell Babidge. Natasha received her Bachelor of Music and a Graduate Diploma in Music (Opera Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium, where she was a recipient of the Helen Myers Scholarship, Greenberg-Gurney-Jensen Scholarship and Henderson Travellers Scholarship.
Natasha is currently performing at the Santa Fe Opera as a first-year apprentice artist where she will be debuting the role of Diedre from Gregory Spears’ The Righteous, in addition to performing as the Dressmaker in Der Rosenkavalier, Magda in La Rondine for the Opera Scenes, and first cover for Annina in La Traviata. Natasha’s recent roles include Nedda (Pagliacci, 2023), Ruth Baldwin (Later the Same Evening, John Musto, The Juilliard School, 2023), La Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro, Prague Summer Nights Festival, 2022), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte, cover performed, 2022), Dame Nellie Melba (Percy – The Opera, 2022). Some of Natasha’s concert soloist performances include Brahm’s German Requiem (2023), Haydn’s Nelson Mass (2022), Poulenc’s Gloria (2021), and Mozart’s Requiem in D minor (2020). Natasha was also selected as a Young Star of Australian Opera in 2022. Natasha is looking forward completing her studies at Juilliard and is excited to see where her craft will take her.
