South Australia Defence, Space & Cyber Scholarship

The South Australia Defence, Space & Cyber Scholarship will fund scholars from the United States to South Australia and from South Australia to the United States who are undertaking PhD or Post-Doctoral research in the fields of Defence, Space, or Cyber Security. Candidates should have a research affiliation with a South Australian educational institution.

The proposed program of research may be carried out under the auspices of an accredited South Australian or American tertiary/research institution. Placements or exchanges abroad from your existing university to undertake independent research projects may also be considered on a case-by-case basis. Proposed independent research projects will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The duration of research in South Australia or the USA should not be less than three-months and should begin within a year from the application closing date.

This scholarship will provide support of up to US $40,000 and may be used to support tuition, travel, living expenses and any other associated educational or research costs.

Rationale for the Scholarship:

The South Australia scholarship will complement and support South Australia’s rapidly expanding defence, space and cyber security sectors; help nurture talent for the state’s space ecosystem; and promote interest and awareness in South Australia.
