Andrew N. Liveris AO appointed Chair

American Australian Association, Inc. (AAA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew N. Liveris AO as its new Chair, effective January 1st 2026. Mr Liveris succeeds Craig Chapman, who has served with distinction as a Board member for 23 years and as Chair for more than six.

This announcement comes at a time of growing momentum in U.S.–Australia relations, following Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s highly successful meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House—a defining moment that reaffirmed the strategic and economic partnership between the two nations.

About Andrew N. Liveris AO

Andrew N. Liveris AO is a globally recognised business leader whose five-decade career spans the industrial, energy and manufacturing sectors. Born in Darwin, Australia, and a First Class Honours graduate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Queensland, he joined The Dow Chemical Company in 1976 and rose through manufacturing, engineering, sales and business leadership roles in Asia-Pacific and North America. Mr Liveris has advised three U.S. Presidents on manufacturing and industrial policy and has served Australian governments in senior advisory capacities on energy, infrastructure and industry. He is the author of Make It in America, a widely cited blueprint for revitalising domestic manufacturing.

He currently serves on the Boards of IBM, Saudi Aramco and Worley Ltd (Deputy Chair), among others, and is President of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee. He is a past Honoree of the American Australian Association in recognition of his leadership and enduring contribution to the U.S.–Australia partnership.
