The Emotional Transitions of Moving to NYC with Susie Lang
The Emotional Transitions of Moving to New York is one of AWNY’s signature events, and we’re thrilled to offer it in person again this year. We’ll welcome our expert Susie Lang to lead the session and offer her advice on navigating the big move’s ups and downs. In a safe and supported space, join us to make some new connections and share your experiences of moving to and living in NYC. Light catering is provided.
Susie Lang is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC), working in Private Practice in NYC since 2012.
Susie has worked in the “helping” profession for 45 years in Australia, the UK, and NYC. Her counseling experience spans over 25 years where she has offered support to clients experiencing Abandonment and Rejection Issues, Blended Family Relationship difficulties, Loss, Grief and Bereavement, Care Giving of a Loved One, Depression, Transitions, Relocation, and working towards Personal Growth and Development. She has felt an ongoing professional commitment to being alongside those looking for emotional healing, understanding, resilience, and support.
Being in the Australian community here in NYC since 2004, she recognized the need for support for those who have made the physical transition to NYC. She has been aware of the Emotional Transitions surrounding this move. She often speaks of isolation in this transition during this unfolding time of becoming acquainted with NYC life.
This is a female-focused event, and we encourage all to attend no matter how recently you arrived in the city. Whether it has been two weeks or 20 years, this is a safe space for all to share their experience.
