Last week, the American Australian Association was delighted to kick off the first of our 75th Anniversary celebrations at Admiralty House, Sydney, generously hosted by His Excellency General the Hon. David Hurley AC DSC (Ret.), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, and Her Excellency Mrs. Linda Hurley.

This year’s Big Aussie BBQ, co-hosted with America Josh was a bonanza with perfect sunny weather, a proper sausage sizzle, a few cold bevvys and a slew of backyard sports and games to keep us entertained all afternoon.

On July 22, USS Canberra became the first U.S. Navy vessel to be commissioned outside the United States.
